Art in the Landscape May 2007

The Mayor and Mayoress of Gravesham, teachers and parents attended an exhibition of 3D hanging sculptures in the Walnut Hill Nurseries polytunnels. The art work was designed and created by students at Axton Chase School, Longfield and displayed by their teachers Mrs. Bevan, Mr. Warick and Mrs. Green.

Renovations 2005-2007

In 2005, the Nursery was redesigned in order to improve the quality of our plants and keep up with the ever changing environment. Three new polytunnels house our more tender plants; new drainage and irrigation systems have been installed in order to conserve as much water as possible whilst ensuring that plants receive adequate water during the dry summer months. Where possible, trees and large shrubs are fixed to wire lines to prevent damage caused by wind. Renovations continued gradually over three years and further improvements are planned.
